  2. found primarily in the Canadian Arctic, Greenlandic, and Russian waters
  3. information I've been finding actually shows an increase in population from 50,000 in 1996, to 170,000 (estimates from the years 2000-2017) which if accurate is wonderful progress!
  4. they are susceptible to many threats though: oil and gas development which cause disturbance (more shipping vessels to collide with, and underwater sounds to confused them and interrupt communication) and climate change are huge factors in helping the population
